France to participate in the EXPO 1520 Railway Fair

BUSINESS FRANCE, the French agency for the development of economic activities for French enterprises on the international stage, alongside French Railways, has organized a French Pavilion, which unites various specialists from the railways sector at the 5th International Fair ‘EXPO 1520’ (2–5 September 2015, Russia, Moscow, Experimental Ring of JSC Russian Railway Research Institute (VNIIZhT), Shcherbinka).

The French Railways sector takes second place in Europe, after Germany. In France, the trade turnover of the railways industry reached 4.13 bn Euro in 2013 (2.62 bn Euro on the domestic market and 1.51 bn Euro through exports). There are around 21,000 people employed in the industry. The French railways sector is globally recognized as highly progressive in any division (rolling stock, railway lines, engineering structures etc), with the ability to offer a range of solutions, from engineering to maintenance.

The French companies participating in the EXPO 1520 Fair are attempting to strengthen their position on the Russian railways market, indicating a dynamic growth. The Russian market is currently in the process of modernization, fuelled by significant investments made by the big players, and supported by major contracts (the replacement of rolling stock, the development of infrastructure and the development of the tram depots). Given this dynamic development, the railways market is experiencing a demand for modern equipment and technology, and local manufacturers are not always able to satisfy the market demands on their own, which opens up opportunities for foreign providers, particularly French enterprises.

The existent cooperation between well-known French companies and their Russian partners may help to attract French experience and technology, which are highly regarded by the Russian associates, to the Russian railways market.

We would like to invite you to visit the French Pavilion to acquaint yourself with our technology, Hall 1, Stand A12/1:

The Fifth International Rail Fair EXPO 1520 will be held at the VNIIZhT Experimental Ring in Sherbinka, Moscow, on 2-5 September 2015. It will be a venue for presenting advanced railway equipment and technologies manufactured by Russian and overseas railway engineering companies. National railway authorities in various CIS, European and Central Asian countries, operators and leasing companies, freight owners and carriers are the key customers of these products. Owing to the high standard of the Fair’s organisation, its unique character and scale in the 1520-gauge area, as well as active involvement of international companies, numerous high-ranking government officials, heads of railway ministries and CEOs of major European corporations visit the event as distinguished guests and delegates. In September 2013, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) acknowledged the international status and superior organisation of EXPO 1520.
