International agreements signed at the EXPO 1520 Railway Fair

Day one of the Fifth Anniversary International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies EXPO 1520 at Scherbinka saw the signing of a number of strategically important agreements.

Russian Railways Senior Vice-President Valentin Gapanovich and Director General of the Association of the European Rail Industry (UNIFE) Philippe Citroën signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between UNIFE andRussian Railways.

Russian Railways Senior Vice-President Valentin Gapanovich, Acting Head of the Federal Agency for Railway Transport Vladimir Chepets and Deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology Alexey Kuleshov signed an agreement on exchange of information about instances of violations in the area of measurement uniformity between both agencies and Russian Railways.

Russian Railways Senior Vice-President Valentin Gapanovich and First Deputy Governor of the Vladimir Region Alexey Marchenko signed a Roadmap for Collaboration between Companies and Organisations of the Vladimir Region with Russian Railways within the framework of using high-tech and innovative products and services, including for the purpose of import substitution for the needs of the railway industry.

Rector of Moscow State Railway University Boris Levin, President Central Europe and Eastern Europe of Bombardier Transportation GmbH Dieter John and Vice-President of Bombardier Transportation GmbH (Services) Michael Fohrer signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement between Moscow State Railway University and Bombardier Transportation GmbH.

Rector of Moscow State Railway University Boris Levin and President of non-profit corporate organisation Railway Constructors Union Gennady Talashkin signed a Cooperation Agreement between Moscow State Railway University and the Railway Constructors Union.

Russia, CEI and Baltics General Director, Managing Board member, and Vice President of GEFCO S.A. Phil Shankley and Managing Board member of Vossloh AG Volker Schenk signed a Memorandum of Collaboration between GEFCO and Vossloh AG.

Vice-President of Russian Railways Viktor Stepov and Regional President Russia–CIS of Vossloh AG Gaël Dumetier signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Russian Railways and Vossloh AG, providing for development of lean production-based manufacturing systems.

Technology Company Huawei and the Moscow Metro signed an Agreement on Non-Disclosure and Protection of Confidential Information.

CEO of United Wagon Company Roman Savushkin and Vice-President for International Business Development of Wabtec Corporation Wilson Pak signed a contract between the United Wagon Company and Wabtec Corporation on exports of railway wagon foundry products.

The Fifth International Rail Fair EXPO 1520 will be held at the VNIIZhT Experimental Ring in Sherbinka, Moscow, on 2-5 September 2015. It will be a venue for presenting advanced railway equipment and technologies manufactured by Russian and overseas railway engineering companies. National railway authorities in various CIS, European and Central Asian countries, operators and leasing companies, freight owners and carriers are the key customers of these products. Owing to the high standard of the Fair’s organisation, its unique character and scale in the 1520-gauge area, as well as active involvement of international companies, numerous high-ranking government officials, heads of railway ministries and CEOs of major European corporations visit the event as distinguished guests and delegates. In September 2013, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) acknowledged the international status and superior organisation of EXPO 1520.
