Welcome all to the 5th Jubilee International Trade Fair of Railway Equipment and Technology!
Every two years, this auspicious event gathers in the Russian capital representatives of the industry’s leading companies from around the world, united under the common “wide-gage” standard. In the ten short years since its inception, this gathering has become the largest railway exhibition in Eastern Europe and the CIS.
According to fond tradition, pride of place at the exposition is occupied by cutting-edge engineering and design advancements in the field of rolling-stock and railway equipment, communications and freight management, automatics and telematics. This is precisely what represents the future of rail transport – destined to play a key role in global integration, the efficient development of regions and entire countries, and the enhanced mobility and quality-of-life of our citizenry.
I am confident that the exhibits and expo-prototypes on display at EXPO 1520 will find useful application in the rail-transport industry – facilitate the realization of sweeping infrastructure projects slated for implementation in Russia over the next few years, including the construction of high-speed rail networks, modernization of the BAM (Baikal-Amur Mainline) and Trans-Siberian Railway.
