The exhibition-on-rails

The Fourth International Rail Rail Salon of Engineering and Technologies Expo 1520 will be held in the Shcherbinka district of Moscow from 11 to 14 September – with exhibitions running on special full-size demo track provided by the VNIIZhT Railway Research Institute, with operating rolling-stock

The exhibition-on-rails will feature everything from the oldest operating steam locos in the collections of Russian Railways through to the latest developments in rolling stock. This year’s exhibition will display a record number of exhibits, with more than 40 trains on display!

Visitors will have the chance to see specialised rail applications in action, including rescue and recovery trains, and fire-fighting equipment.

There will be a special demonstration of all-terrain KamaZ vehicles working in an artificially-created harsh-going environment – particularly the KamaZ Master, a vehicle purpose-built for rallying and a winner in international competitions such as the Paris-Dakar Rally and the Silk Way Rally, and other events.

Double-decker passenger carriages, built to the latest technology specifications for equipment and materials, will be exhibited in the show – and visitors will have the opportunity to take a ride themselves.
The exhibition-on-wheels will be rolling into action twice a day! It will be operating on 12, 13 and 14 of September, at 12 noon and 4pm. The journey on the rolling exhibition will last for an hour.
Another attraction for visitors will be the chance to ride the Swiss-produced Flirt diesel-engine.

The opening day of the rail salon – on 11 September – is restricted to exhibitors and official guests of the Fourth International Rail Salon of Engineering and Technologies Expo 1520.
