6th International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies EXPO 1520 Finishes in Shcherbinka

The 6th International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technology EXPO 1520 took place from August 30 to September 2, 2017 at the Experimental Ring in Shcherbinka. The event attracted over 25 thousand visitors.

The opening ceremony of the salon was attended by the President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov, general director of Transmashholding CJSC Kirill Lipa, and CEO of the Mobility department of Siemens AG Johann Eickholt. During the opening ceremony the president of Russian Railways pointed out that even the early estimates allow to consider the 6th EXPO 1520 salon a success. He also expressed hope for extensive discussions of all changes that have taken place in the railway industry over two years and for impressive results of the event.

The first two days of EXPO 1520 (August 30 and 31) featured the 10th Anniversary International Conference “Railway Machine Building: Prospects, Technologies, and Priorities”, 14 business events and over 20 presentations by Russian and foreign companies. The third day of EXPO 1520, September 1, was dedicated to the 5th International Forum “Transport Science: Innovative Solutions for Business” that focused on testing railway equipment to secure its reliability and efficiency.

Static and dynamic exhibitions that took place within the framework of EXPO 1520 presented the latest achievements in the field of railway equipment, technologies, infrastructure, rolling stock, and locomotive traction. Companies from 26 countries of the world participated in the event and presented 88 samples located on 8,000 sq.m. of exhibition area (about 10 football fields). The visitors of the salon had an opportunity see historical and modern rolling stock used by JSC RZD in movement. A demonstration held twice a day featured a restored steam train of “Ь” series manufactured in 1897.

The audience of the event is represented by executives and specialists of manufacturing companies, railway equipment consumers, industry-specific state agencies, and international organizations, as well as scientists and transport experts.

On the closing day of the salon, September 2, an entertainment program for children and parents was organized. The Day of Open Roads started with sport exercises for the kids. After that they were offered courses in painting on T-shirts and design of photo frames or a yoga class. Between the dynamic expositions and a music festival the guests could enjoy a Bubble Show or learn how to dance zumba.

12 agreements of strategic importance for the transport industry were signed within the framework of the salon. The work of EXPO 1520 was covered by about 370 media representatives.
