The globalisation of transport engineering is the key theme of the international conference Railway Engineering: Partnership of 1520 and 1435 Rail Gauge Manufacturers

The seventh conference Railway Engineering: Partnership Between the 1520 and 1435 Rail Gauge Manufacturers will bring together the leading Russian and foreign representatives of the professional community: the leaders of Russian and German transport agencies, international organisations, railway unions and associations as well as the heads of international venture funds will meet in Berlin on 24 September 2014.

The traditional plenary session will focus on various aspects of the consolidation of a company's scientific, production and management units into a single innovative system, methods to protect intellectual property, and attracting venture financing for transport engineering.

A scientific workshop devoted to the support system for how to make decisions on matters involving railway machinery operation and infrastructure with limited resources will be held as part of the Conference in 2014. In particular, the experience gained by Russian Railways from the introduction of the relevant RRRM system (Resource, Risk and Reliability Management during life cycle stages) will be presented and reviewed as part of the discussion. The heads of the infrastructure divisions of rail companies from Germany, France, Austria, Spain and Italy have been invited to take part in the discussion. Continuing on this theme, matters related to the experience gained from interaction between the NP "UIRE" and UNIFE in the introduction of the IRIS standard at "1520 space" companies will be reviewed.

The Conference business programme also includes sections devoted to light rail transport and the introduction of lean production methods.

The annual international conference Railway Engineering: Partnership Between the 1520 and 1435 Rail Gauge Manufacturers is held within the framework of one of the major exhibitions – Innotrans in Berlin or Shcherbinka as part of the International Rail Salon EXPO 1520.
The key idea of the event is to promote coordinated approaches for the development of railway engineering on 1520 and 1435 spaces in the interests of railway machinery manufacturers and consumers.
The heads of specialised international organisations and a wide range of experts in matters of railway engineering, certification and the use of technological innovations make significant contributions to the substantive content of the event.
