Moscow Metro will support the 6th International Fair of the Railway Equipment and Technologies with the status “Strategic Partner”.
Moscow Metro is the biggest transport operator of Moscow. Every day Moscow Metro is used by more than 8,5 million passengers. 12 lines, 346 kilometers of tracks and 206 stations forms Moscow Metro today. Every day more than 10 000 trains pass with minimal headway of 90 seconds. 56% of all passenger public transportation in Moscow is done by Moscow Metro.
Car type «Г»
In operation: 1941-1982
The work on the development of new generation cars for the metro began in 1936. They were labeled with the letter "Г" (G) because they were designed to operate on the Gorkovskaya (now Lie 2) line, that was opened in 1938.
The first six cars were manufactured in 1940. Test run of a completely new car type "Г" took place on 3rd of March, 1941. A month later the pilot six car train started operation on Line 3.
The War brought amendments to the manufacturing plans of the cars — in 1941 the manufacturing of the cars has been completely stopped - Mytishchi factory began to manufacture armaments. The production of cars for the metro on the Mytishi factory was restored only in 1947, the factory started to immediately produce only "Г" type cars.
The main difference between the "Г" type cars from type "A" and "B" cars was that all cars were motorized and were equipped with new electrical equipment (rheostat controller had oil drive, powerful linear power circuit contactors) allowing electrical rheostatic braking on autoexcitation. Each car had a driver cabin and four collector shoes. Passenger compartment had enclosed fixtures with incandescent bulbs powered by high voltage power supply.
Unladen weight of the cars was cut. The car had new, reinforced welded bogies. Maximum design speed was increased to 75 km/h.
At the time of the development of "Г" type car it was one of the most modern metro cars in the world, both on technical-operational and dynamic-speed performance, and reliability. The projected service life of the cars was 50 years. However, the country has not yet had the opportunity to start producing “peaceful” production and it was decided to use the cars of the Berlin Metro, which arrived on account of reparations after Victory day.
Car type «Д»
In operation: 1956-1995
At the end of the 1954 Mytishi factory was tasked to prepare the production and proceed with serial production of the lite weight all-steel type “Д” car until July 1955. The production of serially produced at that time cars type "Г" had to be stopped. Since the beginning of the 1955 started preparation for the production of a new car began. On 29th of July, 1955 the first metro car type “Д” was assembled and sent for testing.
Externally, the new car type “Д” differed a little from the type "Г" car, not taking into account the paint coating and slight changes in the form of sofas. The main difference concerned these cars were in undercarriage, electrical and mechanical equipment. The weight of the cars was reduced by more than 7 tons. The consumption of electricity was reduced.
On 20th of March, 1958 at a meeting of the car builders with the employees of the Moscow Metro the serial type “Д” car was highly appreciated. The Chief Engineer of Moscow Metro Fiałkowski noted, that the operating speed of the cars in some sections reaches 70 km/h, whereas in New York and London the train speed is limited by 35 km/h.
In Moscow, the "Д" type cars operated on Lines 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Besides Moscow, the type "Д" cars were operated in the Leningrad and Kiev metros.
The production “Д” type cars was ceased in 1963, after which the Mytishchi plant started to produce “Е” type cars.
Back in the 1970 's for the transportation of household goods and materials with slopes up to 60 thousandth, as well as to perform shunting movements at the depot and body track, based on the type "Д" metro cars the battery-trolley locomotives were created (instead of diesel ones that were used previously) this action has noticeably improved the microclimate in the tunnels.
Powered multifunctional diagnostic complex based on automobile railway car «SMDK-Mtr»
In operation: from 01.01.2017
Developing of SMDK-Mtr had been performed on the basis of requirements fixed during cooperation of different departments of Moscow Metro Infrastructure Directorate. These requirements consider demands of service departments and existing possibilities of diagnostic techniques as much as possible.
SMDK-Mtr is intended to automatically constantly control metro infrastructure including track objects, tunnel and platforms limits at the speed up to 80 km/h.
Automobile railway car specially designed and manufactured by “Kambarskiy mashinostroitelniy zavod” Ltd. is used as a mobile unit. Brand new solutions were used as a base for information measuring system of SMDK-Mtr. Due to particularities of metro infrastructure control some measuring systems of SMDK-Mtr had been substantially overworked.
Specialized hardware control system substantially simplifies management process by all difficult diagnostic equipment, allows to minimize amount of service personnel and provides high reliability and quality of gathered information.
Comfort of employees during the work is provided by maintenance system of microclimate set dimensions inside the automobile railway car. Through rational placement of equipment in automobile railway car a zone for accompanying employees is provided and equipped with additional utility equipment.
Self-sustaining of multifunctional diagnostic complex on the base of automobile railway car SMDK-Mtr is given due to high flexibility that also provides efficiency in switching lines, gives an opportunity to control side and depot track and allows to work in accordance with the schedule as well as during repair and preventive maintenance of metro infrastructure.
