Results of the Best Quality Rolling Stock competition will be announced at the Railway Engineering: Partnership of the 1520 and 1435 Rail Gauge Manufacturers conference
RZD is holding the 7th annual competition for the best quality rolling stock and complex technical systems aimed at ensuring greater compliance with technical requirements, at reducing the in-service life cycle costs and at increasing reliability and quality of the manufactured products.
This year, the award ceremony will be held on 21 September 2016 in Berlin as part of the Railway Engineering: Partnership of the 1520 and 1435 Rail Gauge Manufacturers conference.
The competition is held in three categories:
- Rolling Stock (engines, high-speed rolling stock, freight and passenger wagons, motorised rolling stock and specialised rolling stock);
- Components for the Rolling Stock and Infrastructure (parts for engines and high-speed rolling stock and motorised car rolling stock and specialised rolling stock, as well as components of tracks, signalling and communications, automatic controls and locking gear, electrification and power supply);
- Systems for Diagnostics and Control (diagnostics systems for rolling stock and infrastructure, control and security systems).
A business enterprise may enter its products in all competition categories but, one product cannot be entered in more than one category.
Applications to participate in the contest will be accepted until 1 August 2016

The 9th International conference Railway Engineering: Partnership of the 1520 and 1435 rail gauge manufacturers will be held on 21 September at the SofitelBerlinKurfürstendammHotel in Berlin. The conference will take place during the InnoTrans 2016International Trade Fair for Transport Technology.
The conference will cover a wide range of issues pertaining collaboration between vehicle manufacturers from countries “wide” and “narrow” railway gauges. In particular, the issues will include problems of heavy-weight railway traffic, resource saving, manufacturing localisation and introduction of the latest technologies.
Over 200 representatives of the professional community will take part in the discussions, including heads of the leading railway equipment manufacturing companies and of a broad range of enterprises manufacturing components, creating information system and constructing the transport infrastructure.
The event is held with support and active participation of Russian Railways JSC. Business Dialogue LLC is the organiser.
